Tear It by Groovy Deb♥

Hello SOS Friends! It is hard to believe it is November already! We have a new challenge for you this month and I think it will get us ready for the holidays! Before too long we will be scrambling to get packages wrapped so to get us prepared we are going to tear our paper just like we may end up doing if we are not careful when we begin wrapping!

Here are the exact details: Breakout the scraps of paper and start tearing! Create a layout using those torn papers in small amounts or abundance. You choose! Then, email groovydeb@yahoo.com with  your layout. You may be chosen to be our guest of the month with your participation :)

Here is my layout which has a lot of glare from my glitter, but you should be able to see those torn papers. The layout represents my youngest daughter's birthday when she turned 8 this summer. We had no birthday cake yet so we celebrated with a candle and some fortune cookies that went along with our Chinese food, lol!

Pagerize This by Debbie

Debbie is swinging by today with her version of Wendy's layout. Let's see a reminder of Wendy's and then on to Debbie's. OK!
Deb♥

From Debbie:
To Pagerize Wendy's layout this go round was an absolute pleasure! I loved the design of the three photos in a vertical row and embellishments going horizontal. I just moved my photo line onto the left side of the page, and lifted the horizontal line up to almost the middle. I also loved her line of buttons. I found the matching circle garland in my stash that went with the My Mind's Eye Kraft Fun Day collection that I used for my layout, so I used it instead of buttons. Thanks so much Wendy for the inspiration!

This month's challenge made me think brown, lots of brown and I had the cutest idea for a layout after I heard my son's response to wearing his new shoes for the first time. This is what I came up with.

All the layout details are on my blog. I hope to see your take on this fun challenge! :)Ange http://scrappingcompulsion.blogspot.com/

KAREN said this about her layout:
I decided to use the strip of three photos from the Pagerize original as the inspiration for my LO. I love scrapping with Instagram photos so this was the perfect opportunity to use a few at once. I used softer colours instead of the brights. The LO is about a day out in Birmingham we had when my husband ran a half marathon. We had lunch in one of our favourite places after- Wagamama

Hot Chocolate by Elizabeth!

Hello Everyone,

This month I have used the colours suggested by the Hot Chocolate theme and I've really tested myself by creating a double page layout ... I have only ever made single page layouts till now.

The reason for the double page is that I had so many photos of the Shell Garden, taken from different parts of the garden showing some of the special features, it seemed a shame to leave any of them out.

To give a bit of interest to the embossed base card I've splashed chocolate and raspberry coloured paints randomly around. There's very little patterned paper in the layout - I thought the photo's provided more than enough pattern - just the Kraft Kuts die-cut, split in two over the layout and a few scalloped circles punched from Bella BLVD's Family Circle paper, used as embellishments.

Title letters are from various sources as are the flowers and doilies. The shells are from Cornwall.

Because the photos were all different sizes this proved to be a difficult project, however, I am pleased with the end result, but it could be a long time before I tackle a double page layout again.

Thanks for looking,
Elizabeth

Blogging by Wendy K!

This challenge was another easy one for me because I think Chocolate Brown is the most used color in my scrapbooks.  I used this opportunity to use my favorite color combination of pink and brown.  I really dug into my stash for this one.  For more details, visit http://MyScrapbookingBlog.com

Hot Chocolate by Brenda!

Hello Everyone! Brenda here with my interpretation of our HOT CHOCOLATE challenge! The first thought that came to me when we were given the hot chocolate challenge was the color brown. There were a few other things that came to mind later, but I stayed with the color brown because I knew I had this cute photo of my great nephew which has been waiting on the scrap production line! LOL To create my layout I used a sketch by Diana Fisher and the following supplies from my stash: Echo Park This & That Charming PP and embellishments Bazzill “Bitter Chocolate” Cardstock Lily Bee Tiny Alphas Thanks for stopping by and I am looking forward to seeing everyone else’s take on this challenge!

Hot Chocolate by Debbie!

For this month's "Hot Chocolate" challenge, I pulled out my "brown" drawer of embellishments and took a peek. I immediately came across the biggest item in my drawer and it screamed "chocolate" to me. It was a big, round scalloped circle made of thick felt. I can't even remember who the manufacturer is, but I think it came as part of a mini book that I pulled apart to use on different projects. I then went hunting for photos to scrap, and I came across these two of my grandchildren and some good friends posing for a photo near a water fall. After playing around a bit, I figured out my title and where my photos would go. Everything I used on this layout has been in my scrap stash for at least two years. I am so happy to have finally put it all to good use! I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with for this challenge. Happy Scrapping!

Hot Chocolate by Tammy!

My kids are crazy about the drink hot chocolate, much to my surprise I don't have a single photo of them drinking it (note to self: take photos of kids drinking hot chocolate this winter).  Instead I found a photo of my son eating a s'more on his very first camping trip--plenty of milk chocolate both on the s'more and in the layout!  I used Echo Park and Simple Stores papers and stickers for the layout, as well as Jillibean Soup corrugated alphas.

Hot Chocolate by Haley!

Hot chocolate always makes me think of winter, but I've already created a layout of my daughters and their love of hot chocolate.  It's not cool enough here to make some yet either, although I'm sure we'll make some wonderful memories this winter.  When I found these pictures of me when I was four playing in a South Florida snow, I had to scrap them!  If you look closely at the Chocolate squares, you'll see pots and mugs of hot chocolate.  All of my supplies are from Close To My Heart (some new and some old).  If you'd like to learn more about my layout, head on over to http://inkyscrapper.blogspot.com.

Hot Chocolate by Charlotte!

Hot Chocolate makes me think of winter and winter makes me think about Keeping Warm and what a better way to do this than to drink a nice, hot cup of Cocoa! I made this little card to give to someone once Winter strikes us. I used some pretty old stash that I had. It's a line from Echo Park called Wintertime and I just happened to have the cup of cocoa sticker left over. I also used up some really old sparkly ribbon that I had laying around. It's hard to photograph, but looks really pretty in real.

Hot Chocolate by Wendy C!

This is probably one of my most favorite things about Winter...yummy Hot Cocoa!  I used up lots of scraps from an Echo Park kit to put this page together.  The chipboard pieces are a mix of Bo Bunny and Basic Grey.  And the cute bow on the mug is also from Basic Grey.  I cut apart some of the Bo Bunny swirls to make "steam" for the hot cocoa.  I can't wait to see what concoctions the kids come up with this year for our hot cocoa treats!  Stay Warm!

Hot Chocolate by Tamara!

The minute I heard hot chocolate was the challenge for October, I knew I was going to do a monochromatic layout in Brown.  I love to work with monochromatic so I just went to my brown pattern paper and started to pull brown things out of my stash that I thought would go with this fun fall photo of my husband and I. I love to ink up the edges so that is what I did.  I used brown paper, brown ribbon, brown brads, I even found some brown flowers.  I love the final result and encourage you to grab some brown and whip up yourself some hot chocolate!
